Italy Domestic Worker Visa Requirements and Document Checklist

Italy Domestic Worker Visa Requirements extend well beyond a passport and photographs. Italy examines an employer-led work-authorisation case, while the visa authority examines the worker’s application. The safest way to prepare is to separate the documents into four stages: employer application, Nulla Osta, Bangladesh visa submission and post-arrival residence formalities.

Employer requirements

  • Valid identity and lawful residence or establishment in Italy;
  • a genuine household vacancy and credible need for the proposed work;
  • financial capacity to pay lawful wages and contributions;
  • suitable accommodation for the worker where required;
  • compliant hours, salary and proposed residence contract;
  • labour-market checks and professional attestation where applicable;
  • evidence about the care recipient for a qualifying caregiver case.

Employer-income assessment can depend on household composition and the type of job. A special exception may apply when illness or disability makes an employer non-self-sufficient and a care worker is needed. Avoid applying one alleged €30,000 threshold to every domestic-work case without checking the current rule and exception.

Worker requirements

  • A valid passport and lawful residence in Bangladesh;
  • identity details that match the employer application and Nulla Osta;
  • clear understanding of the colf, badante or babysitter duties;
  • truthful experience or training evidence when relevant;
  • documents requested by the current national work-visa checklist;
  • willingness and ability to comply with residence-permit conditions after entry.

Do not invent a universal age limit, IELTS requirement or educational standard for all domestic-worker cases. Practical suitability and communication matter, but the applicable official checklist and specific job determine the formal evidence. False experience documents can lead to refusal and legal consequences.

Employer and Nulla Osta documents

The file can include employer identity and residence evidence, income or financial records, accommodation documents, the proposed employment and residence contract, worker passport details and proof of the required labour-market step. An extra-quota care case can additionally require evidence of the recipient’s age or disability and use of an authorised intermediary.

VFS Bangladesh visa checklist

  • The current national-visa application form;
  • original passport and the required A4 copies;
  • photographs meeting the current specification;
  • valid Nulla Osta information or copy;
  • applicable employment and job-offer papers;
  • Bangladeshi civil, qualification or experience records required by the checklist;
  • translations or apostilles only where the current instruction requires them;
  • appointment, webform or payment evidence.

Download the current long-term work checklist immediately before preparing the file. Photo size, number of copies, passport-validity requirements and legalisation instructions can change. Keep a complete scan of everything submitted and retain every receipt.

Consistency check before submission

CompareProblem to catch
Name and birth dateDifferent spelling in passport and Nulla Osta
EmployerA different household shown in the contract
JobCaregiver authorisation but restaurant work offered
AddressAccommodation and workplace details that conflict
Pay and hoursTerms inconsistent with the stated CCNL level

Employer reconfirmation

After the visa application, the SUI can ask the employer to confirm that the job offer remains available. Different official page versions have shown seven- and fifteen-day references. Do not guess. The employer should respond within the exact deadline written in the SUI request. Failure to confirm can disrupt the case.

Organising the file

Create separate folders for identity records, employer/Nulla Osta records, final visa submission and post-arrival records. Label scans by document and issue date. Keep the English spelling of the name identical to the passport. Replace expired records, old photographs and unsigned forms before the appointment.

Documents after arrival

  • Passport, entry visa and Nulla Osta;
  • signed employment and residence papers;
  • postal-kit receipt and Questura appointment evidence;
  • tax code and INPS employment notification;
  • written contract, payslips and contribution records.

Safe verification

A seal, protocol number or QR code does not prove authenticity on its own. Confirm the employer’s identity and address, speak directly by video, compare the job across the documents and rely on SUI, Embassy and VFS communications. Never upload passport scans to an unknown “Nulla Osta checker.”

FAQ

Is a bank statement mandatory in every case?

Use the current category checklist; do not copy a tourist-visa checklist.

Must every document be apostilled?

No. Apostille or translation is needed only where the applicable instruction requires it.

Does a Nulla Osta copy guarantee an appointment?

No. Validity, Italy-side verification and the current submission channel still apply.

Verification note: Immigration rules, fees and submission channels can change. Before applying or paying, check the current Embassy instructions, the authorised application-centre notices and the official Flussi information. No agent or service centre can guarantee a visa decision.
